I recently placed an order with Rich at 4Noggins and paid for it. A day or so later my son remembered that he’d wanted some Virginia Flake so I emailed Rich and asked if he could add it to the order and back-charge me. On top of that I’d asked him if he could compile some samples for me of “raw” tobaccos for me to try in order that I might more easily identify what it is that I like in a smoke, and both the samples and the VF arrived with the order. I had asked Rich to arrive at a reasonable cost for the samples as there was some work on his part involved and his samples are always generous.
On checking my bank statement this morning I noticed that no charge had been made for either. I emailed Rich and received the following reply:
Hi Paul,
Let’s make one thing clear, you will NEVER be under charged by me!!!
Seriously, I did add the tobaccos you asked for and had no intention of charging you for them. They are “on me”.
It’s the least I can do for a good customer like you.

It’s been a shitty weekend, having received a lifetime ban from SF yesterday, so my faith in the community is fully restored. I hope Rich will forgive me for posting this, and it would be a BAD THING for everyone to put in late orders to see what happens, but what a retailer.

Paul, I have had nothing but great service from Rich. I never give a second thought to placing an order with 4noggins.
As far as SF goes…meh.
